Hello Brides and Grooms!
At the end of a long day of work, I either listened to wedding music or watched romantic movies to jazz my creative side and put me in the mood for some bridal planning bliss.
So, in the spirit of romantic movies, here is one of my favorite quotes from Casablanca that I adored and really enabled me to put a lot of energy toward our DIY items. I hope the quote jazzes you too!
Casablanca:
Rick: If that plane leaves the ground and you’re not with him, you’ll regret it. Maybe not today, maybe not tomorrow, but soon and for the rest of your life.
Ilsa: But what about us?
Rick: We’ll always have Paris. We didn’t have it before…we’d…we’d lost it until you came to Casablanca. We got it back last night.
Ilsa: When I said I would never leave you…
Rick: And you never will. But I’ve got a job to do, too. Where I’m going, you can’t follow. What I’ve got to do, you can’t be any part of. Ilsa, I’m no good at being noble, but it doesn’t take much to see that the problems of three little people don’t amount to a hill of beans in this crazy world. Someday you’ll understand that. Here’s looking at you, kid.
I have included even more DIY items (don’t forget to check out some of the DIY items from Part One of the series) that were used in our wedding on October 25, 2008. Also, I provided a description of these DIY items below:
“Restroom Care Baskets”
These were filled with essential items for our guests, such as: needle and thread, hair gel, hair spray, hair brushes, tooth floss, band-aids, feminine products, deodorant, aspirin, nail polish, nail file, etc.
The printed quotes on the baskets read:
Women’s:
“Here is a basket for all our guests,
to make sure everyone feels their best!
The hairspray will help to hold your hair in place,
and the bobby pins to keep your hair out of your face!
If you break a nail, don’t worry!
There’s a file and some glue,
which can also fix a broken heel on a shoe!
The polish will stop that darn run in your hose,
and use the tissues to stop a runny nose!
We hope that you’ll find what you are looking for,
take a mint and now go hit the dance floor!”
then hurry on back and enjoy the fun!”
Men’s:
“So happy you’re here to share our special day!
However, should something happen to go astray,
please help yourself to the contents within:
mouthwash, bandaids, gum, and even aspirin!
Use only what you need and leave the rest,
as it may also be useful to another guest!
So, repair the damage that may have been done,
then hurry on back and enjoy the fun!”
“Wedding Cake” Card Box
Used on our gift table so that our guests could have a secure location to place well-wishes and gift cards.
”Memorial Table”
Placed near our head table during our wedding reception that celebrates the life of loved ones that are “Forever in our Hearts.”
As a past bride, I wanted to share some of the items with you that the groom and I created for our special day! We truly had fun creating these items… together.
Best Wishes!
