Hello Brides and Grooms!
The first month…
It is gorgeous isn’t it? The way it sparkles in the sunlight, even on a cold day, can really make you feel warm inside. It gently twists around your finger, and you spend plenty of time marveling at how it looks on YOU. The sense of pride goes deeper than the materialistic notion that this is just a big, fancy ring (although it probably looks really fabulous on your hand).
This is hopefully the new beginning of a lifetime filled with love, commitment and happiness married with disappointments, challenges and sadness that culminates in a beautiful relationship with another human.
So what happens when all the “glam and glitter” eventually gives away — or you give in — to the formidable question, “When’s the big day, dear?”
And that is when the planning begins, even if you have to “plan” on what to say to people when they ask the question…
Why not bask in the glow of being engaged, and do little things for YOU?
As a bride who went through a year of engagement, something I wish I had was convenience! I spent some weekends searching gift specialty shops and arts/crafts stores for endless hours without finding anything to use toward the wedding or toward wedding party gifts.
That is where With This Favor takes enables you to sit back and have a shopping excursion that is convenient for you, and can be pretty exciting! After all, we want your engagement and wedding day to be an enjoyable experience, filled with happiness, laughter, and “happily ever after.”
So, what was my first step toward planning for my big day? I started with searching for apparel that let everyone know I did indeed say, “Yes!” So my splurge was a “Just Engaged” tee to solidify to everyone I was now part of the 2.4 million weddings that take place in America every year, according to American Demographics magazine.
I was well on my way to the coveted title of “Bridezilla.” Note to reader: More to come on keeping the “Bridezilla” at bay in future blogs…
Nonetheless, since the beginning of my own engagement in 2007, I found there are many more creative ideas to let others know how excited you and your fiancé are about your upcoming nuptials. Here are some links to organizational aides to help with the planning process, apparel ideas, and bridesmaid gifts. Bridesmaid gifts are always a great way to ask them to be a part of your wedding day!
Remember…
- There is no RIGHT or WRONG way to begin planning.
- It is YOUR dream.
- It is YOUR wedding.
You still have weeks upon weeks ahead to plan everything else
With This Favor will supply a blog for each month of a 1-year wedding timeline to take a little bit of the stress away, and help you to stay organized, especially in the busy lives we all lead! Additionally, we will also supply links to great products that other brides have come to love!
This is your day, as well as your fiancé’s day
Plan this day the way you two WANT it. Our 12-month timeline and blog is just a helpful tool to get you started. Depending on the length of your engagement (whether it is one week, or 4 years), these tips and suggestions are to prepare you for one of the most memorable, most fabulous, and most important days of your life.
Best Wishes!
