Hello Brides and Grooms!
Near the 6-month mark of me and my husband’s 1-year engagement, I started doodling different design concepts of how we wanted the Grande Ballroom of our wedding reception to look.
So, you might be thinking that this is odd that we started with the reception area first, but I had a method to the bridal wedding planning madness. I figured that since the bride and groom, bridal party, guests, and wedding vendors would all spend the most time in that room, I wanted to go ahead and plan the reception layout.
That way, I would have a consistent vision that would overlap into the ceremony and cocktail reception’s layouts.
If you decide that you are in the “bridal wedding planning bliss mode,” below is my tradition of offering a quote that might get you into that “mode.”
The Runaway Bride:
“I guarantee that we’ll have tough times and I guarantee that at some point one or both of us will want to get out. But I also guarantee that if I don’t ask you to be mine, I’ll regret it for the rest of my life cause I know in my heart you’re the only one for me.”
Below you can browse through the Saunders-Hall Reception Layout “Rough Draft” that we made for our wedding. I hope that this sparks some additional creativity, or enables you to create some ideas that can lead to a rough draft of your own reception layout. Remember, it is just a starting point and a way to organize your thoughts for your beautiful wedding day.

This sounds like a good way to start the wedding plans. I’m going to suggest that to my friend. She is getting married next year and she already has some thoughts and ideas about what to do, but I think starting with the reception will be a good start. I’m glad that I was asked to help her with a few things, and one of them was searching for some Chicago Wedding Bands to play at the reception. I think once she knows the theme of her wedding, everything will start to fall in place easier, including the style of music.
